Our guest speaker, Rev Dr Raymont Anderson,  shared a famous quote used in the marvel comics by Ben Parker, uncle of Peter Parker.  It is this quote that inspired Peter to become Spiderman: “With great power comes great responsibility.”  This phrase from the comics is also in the bible, “From everyone to whom much has been given, much will be required; and from the one to whom much has been entrusted, even more will be demanded.” {Luke 12:48}  Realizing your power and the responsibility that accompanies that power is of paramount importance.

What you think matters.  What you believe matters.  What you do matters. And it matters not just to you but to all of creation!  You do not exist in a vacuum where the law of reciprocity somehow does not affect you.  You are like that proverbial butterfly that when it flutters its wings in Kansas a hurricane rises in the middle of the Atlantic.

We are all part of the great whole called God – a Unity.  Everything we do impacts the whole, and what happens to the whole happens to us.  Thus we have a logical obligation to give the best we have to the whole – which improves our individual lives as well.  “As you give, it is given unto you.”
