It is time we realized that each of us is a potential Center of Divine Love and Compassion, every one of us a beautiful instrument through which Spirit is ready and willing to flow, enhancing our own lives and uplifting others. In surrendering to this Source of Nourishment, our hearts open to the Presence, the Power, and the Peace of God. It is in the sharing of It that we touch the common chord of Unity that lies behind and within all supposed division.

Whenever we become aware of conflict or misunderstanding within or around us, that is the moment to take a deep breath and return to Source, letting go of the false images, and inviting that Divine Presence to lift us to a Higher Place. The embrace of Spirit brings deepening faith and growing peace and can change the external circumstances “in the twinkling of an eye.”

Join us this Sunday on line, as our Sunday Celebration is streamed to you from  the Inspiration Café in Paoli, PA. You may watch on line by going to www.CSLPhilly.org and clicking on the orange “Watch Live” button at 10:30 A.M. Rev. Mike will present, “The Conscious Connection,” assisted by our Practitioners and Board Members.  I am grateful for the wonderful work he has offered in my absence. The following Sunday, May 26th, I will happily return to the pulpit for our next in-person Celebration,

Whenever you may find it difficult to deal with a challenging situation, you may consider viewing the Professional Licensed Practitioner Page on our website. As you reach out to any of them, they will gladly work with you to bring clarity and the revealing of a greater Truth.

May 2024 BoT SPOT

Welcome to May 2024 BoT Spot!

May’s CSL theme is “Nourishing Each Other”. This makes me reflect on the beautiful community we have at GPCSL. I have met so many wise, inspiring, talented, caring, and creative people during my 20+ years at the Center. Personally, I have enjoyed receiving and giving nourishment as a member of this community. Saying I am better for it is an understatement.

This past Monday, a group of us met for our monthly “Nibbles & New Thought” dinner. The food was delicious, server delightful, and the ten of us attending shared perspectives, personal stories, and laughs. We even broke into song a few times just to celebrate and entertain our birthday girl, Monay. It was joyous and lovely and nourishing!

I am in awe of the people I have met at the Center and the gifts they shared with us. Musicians: bagpipe, flute, handpan, harps, piano, guitar… on and on! Artists: painters, puppeteers, chefs, master woodworkers, singers/songwriters, ceramicists (I had to look that one up :-). Side note…the ceramicist was also a bagpiper! And the Puppeteer was also a painter! And the master woodworker was also a master chef! Amazing!!! And, you know what is most amazing about all of these individuals? Their tremendous hearts and consciousness. Through their sharing, they have nurtured the entire community. As part of the community, I am thankful.

An active CSL member and close friend to the GPCSL community, Karen Izzi, is inviting us to a special Spring Art Market being held at Camphill Village Kimberton Hills on May 17th and 18th. The flier says, “Original Art, Papa Tony’s Pasta, and Jewelry”. What more do you need for a fabulous outing??? And, a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Camphill Village. Learn more about the Village and the great work they do here: https://www.camphillkimberton.org/ You can also visit their Events page to learn more about the Art Show!

Give and receive nourishment by sharing your gifts and enjoying the gifts of others every day!

Gratefully,

Edie Janik

GPCSL Board President

Letting Spirit nurture and guide us through all our life experiences, we find our faith deepening and our consciousness expanding. Wherever we find ourselves in the world, we are constantly held in a Divine Embrace, nurtured by the Precious Presence of God, and sustained and guided by Infinite Wisdom. As I continue my beautiful healing journey here in Florida, I am in constant gratitude for my inward adventures with Spirit, as well as how beautifully each day unfolds in Grace and Joy.

Our May theme, “Nourishing Each Other,” is a marvelous reminder of how our spiritual practices open our hearts to receive Divine Sustenance as both generous receivers of this Bounty and generous providers of It to others in our lives. I continue having plenty of opportunities to be a blessing to those in the facility that has blessed and supported my healing, simply by acknowledging and appreciating the divinity within each one.

As other’s Day approaches this weekend, I am reminded of Oprah Winfrey’s wise statement, “Biology is the least of which makes someone a mother.” Thinking of all the dear people who have nurtured, encouraged, and supported us, including our own mothers, we realize that we are all ambassadors of God’s Love, graced with the opportunity to share that Love with others. As I am released to my daughter’s home today for the continued revealing of my Wholeness, I realize one more blessing in still being here: I will actually be with her on Mother’s Day for the first time in years, and Jeri Anne is the World’s Greatest Nurturer!

April 30, 2024: From the Pen of Dr. Maxine

Let’s delight in this last day of April, thankful for all we have experienced, the great gifts received, and the loving, nurturing Presence of Spirit that continues to show up in our lives. I am deeply grateful for the constant presence of Spirit’s guidance through all the recent events of my “extended stay” in Florida, the kindness and expert support of my medical team, the loving embrace of my family, and the beautiful work Rev. Mike, the Practitioners, and Board of Trustees continue to provide our Beloved Community.

The inspiring evidence of springtime is also blossoming in our hearts, as we continue to see the Work of Spirit everywhere and constantly bless and praise the beautiful Life Divine everywhere present.  One unexpected blessing I have received on this journey is the pleasure of actually being with my daughter on her birthday today. My gratitude for her overflows, as it does for all who are accompanying me on this excursion.

Let’s all continue loving and supporting one another, giving great thanks for the Presence and Activity of Spirit in all our experience, and remaining true to Principle in all our circumstances.  I give thanks for all of you and maintain my heart connection to all you beloveds.

April 23, 2024: From the Pen of Dr. Maxine

Most of us have heard the expression, “Life is what happens while you’re making other plans,” and I recently found that to be true, personally! While visiting my daughter and family in Florida last week, I had a surprise interaction with a hurricane glass sliding door that landed me on the patio floor with a hip fraction. Instead of returning home on Saturday, I had hip surgery, a number of stitches in my forehead, and am now recovering well in a nice rehabilitation facility.

Obviously, I did not return home in time for Sunday’s Celebration, and I am deeply grateful for Rev. Mike and the team of Practitioners and Board members who worked beautifully together to bring us a wonderful Sunday. I had the pleasure of watching from my hospital bed! We all have reason to feel great appreciation for the caring, creative, dedicated people who keep the Core of our Community working smoothly.

I am so thankful for Life and for the Divine Wisdom that continues to direct the whole process, both my personal healing and the forward progress of our Beloved Community. I am peaceful, flexible, and quietly determined to do all my physical therapy that will enable me to return home at the right and perfect time. I am also delighted in the beautiful commitment of our leaders and members who continue assuring the joy and health of our Community.

Join us this Sunday in person or online for the Morning Celebration coming to you from the Inspiration Café in Paoli, PA. Click here to register in advance if you can be with us; otherwise, go to our website, www.CSLPhilly.org and click on the orange “Watch Live” button at 10:30 A.M.
