Monthly Archives: March 2023

March 28, 2023: From the Pen of Dr. Maxine

As we continue encouraging one another to let our lights shine more brightly, we open our hearts widely to the new possibilities that exist for us, personally and globally. This beautiful spring season lifts our hearts and reminds us of the eternal cycles of Life and our significant part in them. As Holy Week approaches, we prepare for the rebirth of our individual and group consciousness, while accepting the quietness that precedes the flowering of our awareness of New Life. It is in this place of deep peace that we feel Spirit’s Inspiration and begin to awaken to the Peace and Power within all creation.

Our Muslim friends are in the midst of their season of Ramadan, and our Jewish friends begin their observance of Passover next week, just prior to our Easter Celebrations. How wonderful that these spiritual practices all occur in such proximity to each other and provide us with a deepening sense of respect for all faith traditions and gratitude for our Oneness. It truly feels inspiring to honor and celebrate our Unity in Diversity.

We usher in the new month of April with the theme: “Inspiration,” as we approach Easter and a beautiful time of renewal. This coming Sunday, April 2nd, our Palm Sunday topic will be, “Show Me the Way: Divine Guidance,” and we will be gathering at Inteprod in Eagleville. It will also be live streamed for those who need to access it online by going to our website ww.cslphilly.org and using the orange “Watch” button. Scrolling through the pages, you will find events, classes, previous Celebrations and Love Notes.

Be sure to join us on Easter Sunday at Inteprod in Eagleville for an inspirational Celebration with live music from Jim Wade, our special tradition of the Bountiful Bouquet, and more, as we lift our voices and sing in the joy of New Life.

Our Practitioners are standing by to assist you in moving through human challenges, using the spiritual tools they learned in their education, and they can be found on the Practitioner Page of our website. You may call any of them to set up an appointment on the telephone or in person, as you also learn to apply the wonderful process of Spiritual Mind Treatment (Affirmative Prayer) to any situation you may experience.

With great love and respect,

Dr. Maxine

March 2023 BoT Spot

Welcome to March’s BoT Spot!

Happy Spring!!! GPCSL welcomed in the change of seasons with some amazing events over the last few days. Our in-person (and Livestreamed) Sunday Celebration was well attended. Thank you to all who joined us! Rev. Mike Gerdes’ “Teamwork Makes the Dream Work” talk and the live music provided by our beloved Jim Wade and Frank Henninger both inspired and energized us.

The Board participated in an afternoon ‘retreat’ afterwards, during which we shared insights from the book, “The Four Pivots” . Then, Monday, March 20th, provided yet another beautiful opportunity to share space and time with GPCSL friends and members at our first ever “Nibbles and New Thought” dinner event at a restaurant in Malvern. We had a beautiful, private room with a large round table at which we “nibbled” on delicious food and exchanged “thoughts” on topics related to New Thought and Science of Mind principles. The conversation was so lively and robust, we didn’t get through all the questions presented by those in attendance! All this to say, “Happy Spring” and we invite you to “Spring” into an event, class, and/or Sunday Celebration soon!

Speaking of which, what are you doing April 2nd and Easter Sunday, April 9th??? Those are the two dates in April we will be meeting in-person in Eagleville…and, I hear Jim Wade will be back with us for the Easter Celebration! When we come together it is abundantly clear how each individual brings something special to our community…reminds me of a Springtime garden!!!

With gratitude and great love,

Edie Janik

GPCSL Board President

We have welcomed spring and are enjoying the coming season of revelation and rebirth, as we move closer to Easter and the glorious reminders of the New Life that has been present and awaiting our discovery. Nature reminds us constantly that what may appear lifeless is actually flourishing on an unseen level and preparing to bloom visibly at the right and perfect time.

This can be said also for the fallow times we may experience, when we may wonder when a sense of aliveness may return to us. A word of encouragement from a friend or loved one may be just what is needed to help us to remember Who we are and to rise above the temporary condition of limitation. The simple gift of a warm smile, gentle hug, or reassuring word costs us nothing, while providing welcome inspiration for the person who has momentarily forgotten their truth.

One of the most satisfying and productive things we can do to make a world a healthier place is to practice kindness, willingly inspiring others live from their greatness, just by reminding them of their spiritual origins. Isn’t this how we build “A World That Works for All?”

As we complete the March theme, “Encouragement,” we realize we have gained many spiritual tools for lifting each other to a higher level of consciousness, establishing a greater possibility for a wiser, kinder world in which we all may live. I’ll be speaking about, “Raising and Praising” at our Morning 10:30 Celebration as we live stream from the Inspiration Café in Paoli, and it can be accessed by going to our website www.cslphilly.org and using the “Watch” button. Do scroll through the pages to find events, classes, previous Celebrations and Love Notes.

While we successfully practice these sacred principles, there are times it is appropriate to reach out for prayer to help us through these experiences. Our Practitioner Page on the website provides information on our licensed GPCSL Practitioners, who stand ready to work with you, using spiritual tools for human problems. You may make an appointment with whomever you may select, either on the phone or in person.

With great love and respect,

Dr. Maxine

In a few days, many people, Irish or not, will be celebrating St. Patrick’s Day, “wearing the green,” as they enjoy Irish food, drink, and music. It is delightful to celebrate each other’s special days, being keenly interested in people’s traditions. What we all have in common, besides having come forth from the One Creator, is loving to live life in joy and celebration. It feels wonderful to support folks in having fun and enjoying their special occasions.

It is so important to find ways to connect authentically with one another, being truly interested in the things that matter to people, listening with our hearts, and joining in where appropriate. As we extend ourselves to each other, sharing our humanity, it becomes more possible to work together to co-create a better experience for everyone and to focus on our vision of a World That Works for All.

Let’s do our individual, inner work in such a way that can form healthy, viable “teams” dedicated to do our personal and collective part to bring a little more heaven to earth.

We continue March’s theme of, “Encouragement,” and this Sunday’s presentation will be IN PERSON at Interprod in Eagleville, PA with Rev. Mike speaking on, “Teamwork Makes the Dreamwork.” A special treat for us will be our dear friend, Jim Wade, presenting all the music LIVE! As usual, it will also be live streamed for our 10:30 Celebration and can be accessed by going to our website www.cslphilly.org and using the orange “Watch Now” button. If you scroll through the pages, you will find events, classes, previous Celebrations and Love Notes to view.

Check out the Practitioner Page on our website, if you wish to find a licensed GPCSL Practitioner to work with you, using spiritual tools for human problems. and make an appointment, either in person or on the telephone. Any of them will be glad to work with you.

With great love and respect,

As we become more aware of the constant support we feel from the Universal Love and Wisdom within and all around us, it becomes quite natural to extend encouragement to our loved ones, neighbors, and eventually to those we do not yet know.  Cooperating with others in an expanded and sustainable vision of a peaceful, productive, and prosperous world is the direction in which conscious, creative people are choosing to engage.

It is essential that we keep our perspective clear and our intention high, rejecting much of the “world opinion” and any attempts to dampen our enthusiasm.  As we read in Nehemiah, “I am doing a great work, and I cannot come down!” He was a Jewish leader who had lived many years in exile before being called to rebuild the city of Jerusalem.  His strength and determination not to yield to those who desired him harm kept his vision clear, and he and his co-workers succeeded in their vision and mission.

We must also maintain our courage and dedication to stay the course, as we build and rebuild our own consciousness, as well as our Beloved Community.  Yes, we have been without a dedicated facility for well over a year; yet, we continue with our creative ideas for personal gatherings, classes, and events.  This is because our Community goes beyond physical walls, and we are determined NOT to depart from our vision and mission.  Thank you for keeping the High Watch with me.  We are, indeed, “doing a great work!”

We continue March’s theme of, “Encouragement,” and this Sunday’s presentation will be, “We Can Do This Thing!” Catch our livestream from the Inspiration Café online for our 10:30 Celebration by going to our website www.cslphilly.org and using the orange “Watch Now” button. If you scroll through the pages, you will find events, classes, previous Celebrations and Love Notes to view.

If you are facing a personal challenge or simply wish to raise your consciousness a few degrees, choose a Practitioner from their Page on our website and make an appointment, either in person or on the telephone. They offer spiritual tools to support you in your spiritual growth and are happy to work with you.

With great love and respect,

Dr. Maxine
