Love is greater than all else and covers a multitude of mistakes. Love overcomes everything and neutralizes all that is unlike itself.  Love is God.  Ernest Holmes, Science of Mind, p. 504

As Rev. Mike and I fly to Florida today for granddaughter, Stephanie’s wedding next weekend, we feel grateful for the great care our Beloved Community is given by so many in our absence.  Of course, we know Infinite Wisdom is guiding everyone at all times and expressing beautifully through our leadership and participants who are devoted to the personal and collective wellbeing of our Center’s people. You will experience a delightful guest speaker on Sunday, a dear friend from Center of Peace, Dr. Hazel Spears, sharing with you, “Keeping Your Head in the Sky,” and our own Jo Lurquin will provide warmth and expertise, as she welcomes everyone and guides the Celebration.

We delight in love in all its manifestations, whether expressed in wedding vows, Practitioner dedication, as we experienced last Sunday, the birth of a child, or the genesis of a creative idea.  God is Love, and Love is God, and it is wonderful to remember that this is the Universal Essence in which we all partake and from which we receive the gifts of wellbeing and continual expansion of consciousness.  As we lift our awareness to this Divine Presence, we become free of anything negative to which we may have erroneously given our attention. Let’s keep looking up!

The Practitioner of the Day awaits you in the “Upper Room” at 10:00 A.M. each Sunday for a 20 minute meditation. Our Celebration begins at 10:30, so you’ll have time to connect with your friends downstairs, as we follow CDC recommendations, wear masks indoors, and use color-coded name tags to communicate people’s choices for the degree of personal connection or social distancing desired. Join us in person or on line at www.cslphilly.org  and click on the orange “watch now” button, whenever you wish to view the Celebration or previous Sunday Celebrations and Rev. Mike’s and my archived “Love Notes.”

Our wonderful Practitioners and Intern are available to you on our website under “Practitioners” and are happy to work you through any challenges you may be experiencing or assisting you in demonstrating some particular good in your life. Select the person with whom you wish to work, and contact him or her by phone, text, or email.

With great love and respect,

Dr. Maxine

Like the moon, come out from behind the clouds! And Shine!  Buddha

The Universal Light of Wisdom exists within each of us, growing day-by-day, as we engage in the spiritual evolutionary process, and is made even brighter when people come together and encourage that Light to come forth warmly and steadily.  This coming Sunday, we have the great honor and pleasure of officially introducing to you our two, new Practitioners: Cheryl Macklin and Nettie Bonner.  They will receive their cards and certificates from Centers for Spiritual Living, in a very special ceremony honoring them, as well as our current Practitioners.  It will also be, “Graduation Sunday,” where those students who completed SOM classes during the year will receive their certificates.

Whether you attend in person or virtually, you will find this ceremony heart-opening and happy, as we honor those precious beings who are dedicated to keeping their own “wicks” trimmed with prayer and meditation, so they may effectively assist others in lighting or relighting that holy candle within.  We are so grateful to see our Healing Ministry growing in numbers and deepening in commitment. Let’s acknowledge and celebrate them all!

Many wonderful events occur this month, including two fine guest speakers on October 17th (Dr. Hazel Spear) and 31st (Rev. Mike Gerdes), “Bada-Bada-Bingo” October 23rd, and our Community Visioning on October 24th.  We are, indeed, “rev-ving up,” as we move into the next beautiful steps in our Beloved Community’s journey. We continue fanning the flames of Love and Wisdom within one another, and our Lights are shining brightly!

If you arrive early on a Sunday morning, you may wish to join the Practitioner of the Day upstairs in our Prayer and Meditation Room at 10:00 A.M. for a peaceful, 20-minute meditation.

Be sure to engage the services of one of our Practitioners or our Intern, as they are always available to you on our website under “Practitioners.” As you select the person with whom you wish to work, they will assist you in overcoming a challenge or demonstrating some greater good in your life.

With great love and respect,

We must relight the torch of our imagination by “fire caught from heaven.” We must remain faithful to this vision for a realization of the Presence of God is the secret power of our work.  ~ Holmes, Science of Mind, p. 218

Moving into a new month, we are focusing on the theme: “Elevating Our Vision,” a worthy intention to clarify and expand our creative desires for ourselves, our Beloved Community, and the world. Whether we have been focusing on the outward conditions or the inner mental picture of a greater heart’s desire, we are always at liberty to lift even higher our view of the Possible.

Recalling that, “With God, all things are possible,” and remembering that we are always with God, as we are each beautiful, individualized expressions of God, it becomes easier to establish our divine purposes in Spirit and invite the Law to bring them into full manifestation.  Elevating our vision to the Divine Vision, we move effortlessly out of any condition and become free from circumstances and public opinion.

We plan a Community Visioning this month after Celebration on October 24th.  Please save the date, as we desire everyone’s participation in bringing about a greater idea, a deeper understanding, and a higher intention.  We truly are “the ones we’ve been waiting for,” and it is a delightful responsibility to step into the higher consciousness of Love and Infinite Possibility.

Our Practitioner of the Day offers quiet Meditation prior to our Sunday Celebration upstairs in our Prayer and Meditation Room at 10:00 A.M.

Our Practitioners and Intern are always available to you and may be reached by contacting them on our website under “Practitioners.” Choose whoever feels right to you to work with, as you increase your consciousness of Good, solve challenges, or heal a difficulty.

With great love and respect,

Dr. Maxine

What we now experience we may cease experiencing if we have the will and the imagination to set our vision in an opposite direction and hold it there.
~ Ernest Holmes, Science of Mind, p. 418
How good it feels to see many of you in person at our 10:30 A.M. Sunday morning Celebrations and to know others are joining us online to experience the joy of being together. Our Annual Community Meeting was well attended last Sunday, and our Board of Trustees shared practical and inspirational information. We continue celebrating outgoing Board members: Karen Davis, John Szal, Tina Richards, and Elyse Riggs, as we welcome our newest member, Suzanne Smethers.
As we complete our month of September and enter into a new season, we continue “reawakening and renewing,” as this is not a month-long or season-long intention but a life-long, spiritual commitment we all find in our souls. As a dear nonagenarian minister friend explained to me about why she continues taking Science of Mind classes, “I just keep evolutin’ right along!” You may wish to consider joining our next eight-week class, “Spiritual Economics,” beginning Tuesday, October 19th at 6:30 P.M., via Zoom, as these classes stimulate our spiritual growth and show us how to use these beautiful principles to improve our lives and to enhance the world.
Let’s happily enter into the beautiful fall season tomorrow, learning from the autumn leaves to release that with which we are finished, as we awaken to the infinite possibilities of new life, greater awareness, and real aliveness. That is precisely what we’ll be discussing next Sunday. You may wish to dress casually, as we’ll then go directly to our picnic at East Goshen Township park on Paoli Pike. We are a Community of people always ready to have fun, while celebrating our spirituality!
Consider joining our Practitioner of the Day prior to our Sunday Celebration upstairs in our Prayer and Meditation Room, where you will experience a quiet, twenty-minute Meditation at 10:00 A.M., then join your friends downstairs for our 10:30 program. We follow CDC recommendations, wear masks indoors, and use color-coded name tags to communicate people’s choices for the degree of personal connection or social distancing desired. Join us in person or on line at www.cslphilly.org  and click on the orange “watch now” button, whenever you wish to view the Celebration or previous Sunday Celebrations and Rev. Mike’s and my archived “Love Notes.”
Whether you are working through a challenge or simply wish to expand your consciousness, you may contact any of our Practitioners or Intern on our website.

“In five hundred twenty-five thousand six hundred minutes, how do you measure a year in a life?”  “Seasons of Love” from the Broadway musical, “Rent”

Continuing with September’s theme, “Reawaken and Renew,” we are preparing to celebrate the autumnal season in just over a week, as well delighting in the start of new classes, and experiencing our Annual Community Gathering this Sunday, September 19th.  It truly is all about letting Love lead the way, as we have depended on this Divine Source throughout the pandemic and the many global challenges we have faced.  How do we “measure a year” and continue counting the blessings and gifts that have emerged and shall continue to show up in our lives?

It was necessary to dive more deeply into God’s Love and Wisdom, as we navigated challenging currents and unsettling seas of experience, and we have made it through to this powerful point.  The more we focus on the good that continues to come from all these situations, and the proof of a conscious, caring, compassionate humanity in the midst of this multitude of challenges, the greater becomes the possibility of our emergence into a whole, new way of living. Our progress is measured by our increased reliance on Spirit, our more intentional use of the Law, and our growing confidence in ourselves, our Community, and the future of the world itself.

Please join us this Sunday at 10:30 A.M., either in person or on line, then bring your lunch, if you wish, as our Community Meeting begins at 12:15 P.M. and is open to members and regular attendees; of course, only GPCSL members are qualified to vote. Your Board of Trustees has a wonderful presentation planned for you, with a beautiful review of the past year and some great plans for an inspired year to come.  Your presence and clear voice are essential to the continued progress of our Beloved Community, so do plan to share this sweet afternoon with your spiritual family.

If you wish to join one of our Practitioners prior to our Celebration, simply go upstairs to our Prayer and Meditation Room to participate a quiet, twenty-minute Meditation at   10:00 A.M., prior to Celebration. Do keep in mind that we follow CDC recommendations, wear masks indoors, and use color-coded name tags to communicate people’s choices for the degree of personal connection or social distancing desired. We continue live streaming, as well. Join us in person or on line at www.cslphilly.org  and click on the orange  “watch now” button, whenever you wish to view the Celebration or previous Sunday Celebrations and Rev. Mike’s and my archived “Love Notes.”

Our Practitioners and Intern are prepared to support you spiritually, so select one from the Practitioner Page and let your life change for the better.

With great love and respect,

Dr. Maxine
