Many of us started out this brand, New Year facing, dealing with, and overcoming a number of human challenges through the wise and constructive use of our spiritual practices: Meditation, Spiritual Mind Treatment, and the courageous intention to “keep our conversations in heaven,” both internally and externally. This is a perfect time to be reviewing the basic principles of our teaching, and, as we embrace our Beloved Community’s new theme for 2024, “A Whole New World,” we are stepping up in consciousness to a higher vision of The Possible.

We began last Sunday in our annual review of the four Introductory chapters of Ernest Holmes’ Science of Mind and, as we continue throughout the month of January, you are encouraged to read each chapter in advance, if you wish a “preview,” and during the week after as a “review.”  Our January theme is, “An Auspicious, New Beginning.” This is the opportune time, and we are the fortunate people who are enthusiastically joining with Light Workers from all over the world to lift the human consciousness to a higher level. With Martin Luther King, Jr. day of commemoration coming this weekend, we not only honor his Dream, but we continue developing a greater vision of a world that truly works for all.

Moving along this evolutionary path of spiritual unfoldment, we wisely and lovingly support one another on the journey. As our Purpose Statement reminds us, we are about, “Living, Loving, Learning,” and we do engage in “Spirituality That Works!” This Sunday, January 14^th, Rev. Ernest Holmes’ words at the very beginning of the “textbook,” The Science of Mind, are: These lessons are dedicated to that Truth which frees man from himself and sets him on the pathway of a new experience, which enables him to see through the mist to the Eternal and Changeless Reality.

As we enter this new year, I am encouraged by those conscious, curious, caring people who are resolute in standing in Eternal Truth, despite external appearances. As we focus on Oneness in the face of divisiveness, Love in the presence of hate, Plenty instead of deprivation, and Peace where conflict occurs, we empower ourselves and others to see through the mist of misinformation and misconduct to the constant Presence of God.

This is the time of year when many of us in Centers for Spiritual Living focus on the basic teachings of Science of Mind, discussing the first four introductory chapters in Dr. Holmes’ inspirational writings in what we have fondly come to know as our “textbook.” In our Beloved Community, we are focusing on “A Whole New World” in 2024, and our January theme is, “An Auspicious, New Beginning.” Each Sunday, we expect to bring to life each of the four chapters, and we encourage you to read the one for each Sunday in advance and to review it during the week.

It is in the deepening of our connection to Source, the development of understanding of the Law, and the wise utilization of these Divine Principles that we attain True Freedom. There is a Whole New World to be discovered within each of us, and our individual discovery and empowerment inspires others to enter deeply into Spirit and to live in Harmony and Freedom. Let’s walk together into amazing, new opportunities this year. We trust your Christmas was as delightful as ours. Rev. Mike and I so loved everything about our Season of Light, from the Winter Solstice Celebration to our in-person Christmas Eve Day gathering with special North Pole Guest and Elf, to our sweet Christmas morning feasting and frolicking with dear ones. It is an amazing experience to invite and allow the Joy of God to express through so many delighting activities, as the Christ Light within our hearts becomes brighter and brighter.

We all continue the celebrations with the coming of the New Year, and you are cordially invited to Rev. Mike’s World Peace Meditation next Sunday, December 31st at 2406 Woodview Way, Malvern, in the temporary offices of AVE apartments. You do need to register on our website, and we ask that you arrive by 6:45, so we may begin the hour on time, then enjoy breakfast together at a nearby restaurant before Rev. Mike and I livestream our 10:30 A.M. Celebration from the Inspiration Café in Paoli.

We are ready to begin a Bright New Year with the conscious intention that Peace, Love, and Joy emerge all around the planet, beginning in our own hearts, families, and communities.

Surely, you do not need to be reminded that Christmas is fast approaching. Whether or not you feel current with your plans and preparations, it will still be here in six days! Perhaps this would be a good moment to stop, breathe, put everything down, and remember why you are celebrating this occasion. In pausing from busy activities for a brief time and opening your heart to the Divine Heart, you may begin to “feel the love tonight!” It truly is everywhere, and it has the ability to transport you from “busy” to “blessed.”

Even if not every task is accomplished exactly on time or with the finesse you might prefer, what is happening in your heart is far more important than how well the wreath is hanging or what you are selecting for the menu. This is the time of rebirth of hope, of compassion, of a new vision for ourselves and the world. Aligning with the Radiant Light within us, we can begin to feel Its warmth, healing presence, and assurance that the darkness of ignorance is being transcended into the reality of Unity with our Source. Let our days be purposeful, as we allow ourselves to be carried by Love and Joy.

Please come this Sunday, December 24^th to our in-person gathering at the Inspiration Café in Paoli, if you are in the area and can register on line in ample time. The Celebration will be livestreamed, as well, but local folks will have the pleasure of experiencing a visit from the Jolly Fellow in the Red Suit and his Elf! Rev.
