Many of you know that Rev. Mike and I are doing a good bit of traveling this summer and are currently enjoying this week at the CSL Asilomar event, “SOAR,” in Pacific Grove, California. How sweet it is to connect with long-time friends and colleagues and to be inspired by uplifting presentations and musical performances. You can imagine the Power of the Presence generated in such a gathering of conscious, caring people. It is not that there is more power in a larger group, but perhaps a greater opening for the inflow and outpouring of Spirit.

An even larger gathering of spiritual leaders from around the world come together in Chicago, as the Parliament of the World’s Religions convenes, the place where it first began in 1893. Beginning August 13^th, over 10,000 of us will participate, more than 240 registered as members of New Thought centers at last count. Imagine the presentations of global luminaries and the conversations of the participants as the week unfolds. Rev. Mike and I attended the last one in Toronto in 2019 and promised ourselves never to miss another. These dedicated leaders make it clear that we must work together in love and clear purpose to create “A World That Works for Everyone (All).”

In our own Beloved Community, we always seem to experience a deeper connection to the Presence and a greater sense of Divine Possibility when we come together in person, and we continue finding lovely ways to gather and to let Spirit express through us peacefully and productively. Continuing our focus on “Peace,” we keep our hearts open to God and to one another, clear that this is the way to greater serenity for ourselves and truer tranquility in the world.

What an exciting Sunday Celebration is coming up this week! Our entire Practitioner Team got together the end of July and created a powerful presentation on, “Perspectives in Peace.” Even our Tallahassee Practitioner, Beau Smith, came to Paoli for the first time and joined in on the festivities. Be sure to watch the “Lovestream” this coming Sunday, as each one delivers his and her various perspectives on this month’s theme. Entering a new month, we also begin a new focus, and our August theme is: “Peace.”  How very appropriate this is, not only personally, but globally, as well.  There is enormous call for prayer in the world, and we are grateful to be able to respond to it. Each news cast gives us more opportunity to raise our consciousness to a greater vibration and to lift the world a little higher. In our individual lives, we may have been experiencing a great deal of summer activity with traveling, receiving visitors, and  numerous celebrations. We may be ready to feel more peacefully in the flow of life, slowing down a bit to savor each moment of the season.

As we invite Divine Peace to flow though us, It responds instantly, bringing a sweet breath of Spirit, and reawakening us to the Presence and Power within us that always keeps us in perfect balance and harmony with the Universe and one another.  Begin developing a New Vision of serenity for yourself, your loved ones, and the world itself. If not now, when?  If not you and I, who?  “We are the ones we’ve been waiting for!”

As Ernest Holmes brilliantly explained, “Freedom, like Truth, is self-existent and self-propelling.” This is great news, especially when we find ourselves indulging in false beliefs about external influences creating limitation or bondage.  Freedom truly is an inside job, and it is always available to us, no matter the circumstances. Rather than feeling stuck in a situation from which we wish to be released or thwarted in a plan we desire to implement, the sweet and simple act of getting in touch with that Eternal Presence of Freedom is the solution.

Of course, it all begins in our own consciousness, and that is the arena in which we have sovereignty, as we use the Power within us to liberate us from incorrect thoughts or restrictive emotions.  No matter a person’s past, it is entirely possible to experience the joy of freedom in the present moment through inviting Spirit to celebrate Itself by means of us.  There are no exceptions.

Setting intentions is a wise and necessary practice, as we know how perfectly the Law of Mind responds to our mental equivalents; still, it can be wonderful to trust so completely in the Universal Divine Givingness that we also allow ourselves the freedom of remaining open to unexpected delights along the way! The more we engage in our spiritual practices of meditation, affirmation, and spiritual mind treatment (affirmative prayer), the more deeply we are able to feel our connection to Source, our trust in the Law, and our confidence in the Word.

As our consciousness of faith deepens and expands with each beautiful manifestation of Good in our lives, we tend to relax into an expectation of happy surprises, anticipating pleasures and treasures in abundant supply. Keeping the mind set on the positive good and refraining from gloomy thoughts and negative feelings, assures us of living a life of joy and freedom.

Our Beloved Center also benefits from our conscious, caring, creative use of the Law, and we are manifesting the powerful idea of expansion in two weeks, as we receive new members into our Community on Sunday, July 30^th.  It will be a very special day, as our Florida Practitioner, Beau Smith, will be with us in person for the first time, and Jim Wade will supply the musical inspiration for the day. Be sure to be with us for this grand celebration.

While Rev. Mike and I have been enjoying our sauntering through the beautiful Canadian Rockies, our wonderful leadership teams have continued caring well for all in our Beloved Community.  We are so grateful for everyone’s love, enthusiasm, and dedication. It feels wonderful to know that our Center is always in the hands of caring and capable people.  It has also been delightful to stroll or meander, rather than hike through these amazing mountains, as John Muir suggested.  He preferred the word, saunter, as it is derived from the French word describing pilgrimages in the Middle Ages, saunter derived from the word for saint.

Thanks to our wonderful friend and guest speaker, Dr. Hazel Spears, for inspiring everyone last Sunday, while I was sharing with the good folks at the Calgary Center for Spiritual Living.
