I forgive all and am forgiven of all and by all. Nothing remains in my being but love. ~ Ernest Holmes, Science of Mind, p.261
In order to build a strong tomorrow, it is necessary to look just long enough at the yesterdays to glean what may be reframed and transformed. We do not wish to take any uncomfortable and unhelpful “baggage” from the past into our desired future. Of course, this will involve some measure of forgiveness, of ourselves and others. A good question to ask is, “With my present consciousness, would I have done anything differently at that time?” It is this brief glance in the “rear view mirror” of our awareness that we can cleanse our minds and hearts of blame or shame and become an open and welcoming instrument of Divine Possibilities.
Another great tool is to look to see the gifts we received from this experience, in order to release it in gratitude and experience real freedom. True forgiveness is releasing the negative emotions and replacing them with grateful possibilities. We all desire and deserve to live freely and joyfully, so let’s mindfully do our good work and open to a greater flow of Unconditional Love.
