Sept 29, 2020: From the Pen of Dr. Maxine

The essence of Love, while elusive, pervades everything, fires the heart, stimulates the emotions, renews the soul and proclaims the Spirit.  ~ Ernest Holmes, Science of Mind, p. 478

In the month of October, our gaze will be on the Core Values of our Beloved Community, and our intention will be to incorporate and live those values with which we resonate.  It is when we look deeply within our hearts to see what is precious, valuable, and essential to our lives that we begin living more fully from the center of the True Self.  Human experiences then become viewed from a greater perspective, one in which we remain committed to those higher ideals that motivate and lead us successfully through life.

Reading through the Greater Philadelphia Center for Spiritual Living’s Core Values, we probably discover that they align well with our own, and we may be encouraged to live them more fully in our experiences.  They are: Love, Kindness, Healing, Oneness, Co-Creation, Abundance, Spiritual Growth, Service, Inclusion, and Harmony. We will address them all over the next four Sundays and see how we may embody and live them more completely in our personal lives, then extend them to the world.

Examining our individual values is a wonderfully productive exercise, as it elevates us to see deeper meaning in our existence and allows us to use discernment in the thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and activities we may choose.  Asking, “Is this mine to do?” in the context of, “Does this align with my core values?” insures our choice of the right road for our endeavors, as we discover,  develop, and follow our life purpose.

Please continue joining us each week on our live-streamed Sunday Celebrations at 10:30 A.M. on You Tube and Facebook, and invite your friends to spend an uplifting hour with us.  Simply go to our website, www.cslphilly.org. Our theme for October will be, “Living Our Values,” and this Sunday’s first topic of the month is, “The Value of Love and Kindness.”  Previous Sunday Celebrations are archived on our website, along with the daily “Love Notes” that Rev. Mike and I enjoy sharing with you.

You’ll find information about our Center’s Practitioners who are ready to provide spiritual support for you, as they also continue to support our Center in prayer-treatment. We are deeply grateful for your continued contributions that are working to keep our Center healthy enough to open the doors for us all, when the time is right.

With great love and respect,

Dr. Maxine
