July 11, 2023: From the Pen of Dr. Maxine

While Rev. Mike and I have been enjoying our sauntering through the beautiful Canadian Rockies, our wonderful leadership teams have continued caring well for all in our Beloved Community.  We are so grateful for everyone’s love, enthusiasm, and dedication. It feels wonderful to know that our Center is always in the hands of caring and capable people.  It has also been delightful to stroll or meander, rather than hike through these amazing mountains, as John Muir suggested.  He preferred the word, saunter, as it is derived from the French word describing pilgrimages in the Middle Ages, saunter derived from the word for saint.

Thanks to our wonderful friend and guest speaker, Dr. Hazel Spears, for inspiring everyone last Sunday, while I was sharing with the good folks at the Calgary Center for Spiritual Living. This Sunday, Rev. Mike will be speaking from the Inspiration Café on, “Stretching Into a New Idea,” as we continue this month’s focus on, “Freedom.” Just go to our website, www.cslphilly.org and click on the orange “Watch Live”  button in order participate virtually. Be sure to scroll through the site to learn of our many wonderful summer events.

Let’s continue sauntering through our lives, remaining keenly aware of the beauty all around us, and treasuring each moment.  We are free to choose the direction we take each morning, and we may choose again at any time of the day.  Life is a beautiful thing to cherish and to live with full hearts and inspired minds.

Although we learn to use the wonderful spiritual tools Science of Mind provides, like spiritual mind treatment (affirmative prayer), there are times when we do well to turn to a professional Practitioner for help with a particular human challenge. You will find several caring and competent people in our “God Squad” on our Practitioner Page and are invited to choose one with whom you may wish to work.

With great love and respect,

Dr. Maxine

July 4, 2023: From the Pen of Dr. Maxine

Today, we celebrate the 247th anniversary of the Independence of our country, enjoying parades, picnics, and fireworks to delight in our freedom from British rule. Here, in Pennsylvania, there is great history of this time, including battlefields and commemorative plaques.  Isn’t it interesting how our two countries have long since been friends and allies and how we still tend to maintain keen interest in the royal family! It is a bit like young people struggling to establish their own identities, resisting their parents’ “rule,” and finding (hopefully, healthy) ways to break away. Eventually, everyone reaches out to their loved ones and creates a more stable and adult relationship with one another.

While we all need to establish our independence from external influences, we are wise to open our hearts to a conscious and creative interdependence with Life Itself, as well as with the dear ones who matter to us. As we mature mentally, emotionally, and spiritually, we develop a greater perspective, willing to create healthy connections with those with whom we might have experienced restrictive relationships. Even when our country’s independence was declared, many people remained unfree for many years, including women and enslaved people. Slowly, we began to honor one another in an interdependent association. Let’s move forward together in Grace.

Our special guest speaker this Sunday will be Dr. Hazel Spears, and she will be coming to you live from the Inspiration Café in Paoli. Her inspiring talk will be called, “Freedom, as Nothing Left to Lose . . . Revisited,“ and you can count on receiving brilliant insights and revelations from our dear friend from the Center of Peace. A few seats will be available at the Café and must be reserved in advance. To register, just click here – or – go to our website, www.cslphilly.org and register at the July 9th “In-Person Sunday Celebration,” or watch virtually by pressing the orange  “Watch Live” button. Be sure to scroll through the site to learn of the many wonderful summer events planned.

On our Practitioner Page, you will find several well trained, compassionate, and dedicated people who are ready to work with you to clear out unwanted belief patterns, elevate your consciousness, and help you bring beautiful demonstrations into your life. Just choose with whom you choose to work and set up an appointment, either in person or by telephone.

With great love and respect,

Dr. Maxine

June 2023 BoT Spot

Welcome to June’s BoT Spot!

The GPCSL Board of Trustees (BoT) met last night for its monthly meeting. As is the case most meetings, we each arrive carrying in our own energy of the day’s events and sometimes challenges. The first segment of every meeting is focused on helping us get centered in who we really are, our appreciation for one another, and the mission of our Center as its own expression and as a part of the Centers for Spiritual Living International Organization. It’s a beautiful thing, and I walk into every meeting looking forward to the renewed energy and peace I experience, as it always washes away any stress or weariness I picked up from a “long day”.

We learn in Science of Mind that what we focus on expands. The BoT meeting experience I just described is an excellent example of this principle.

Our agenda then moves into reviewing, celebrating, and applying creative thinking on matters of finance, membership, classes, Sunday Celebration logistics, outreach, marketing, and upcoming events. We remain focused on serving and growing our community of members and friends. We remain focused on all the good at hand as well as the good yet to be realized. We remain focused on the gratitude we have for our lovingly dedicated minister, Dr. Maxine Kaye, and her impassioned beau, Rev. Mike; our talented and Spirit-led practitioners and all the beautiful members and friends who make the Center smile with their very presence (in-person and virtually) and generous support.

It is a joy-filled and exciting practice to focus on that which you wish to expand in your experience, rather than focusing on what you don’t want. If you or someone you know is looking to experience more community, health, prosperity, love, creativity, or (fill in the blank), I invite you to visit the GPCSL calendar of events and classes at cslphilly.org. I bet you’ll find something there that will get you laser focused!

In gratitude and great love,

Edie Janik

President, GPCSL Board of Trustees

It is wonderful to appreciate the many freedoms we enjoy, never losing sight of the Source which provides them and each individual consciousness that invites these beautiful experiences to occur in our lives. We do not take for granted our ability to move about the planet freely nor our great gift to choose the highest and most life-affirming thoughts and feelings. It is our inner beliefs that create our reality, so we are wise enough to maintain an ever-expanding consciousness of peaceful, powerful, productive mental equivalents.

Our teaching invites us to relinquish any and all limiting beliefs and enter into a whole, new world of possibilities. It also encourages us to include all people in our desire for joyous life experiences, as well as peace, harmony, and prosperity for everyone. As we remember that we are at liberty to make these wholesome choices for ourselves and others, we align ourselves more closely with the Divine Intention for Its creation to prosper and thrive in this wonderful Life experience. Let’s keep choosing well!

Join us on livestream this Sunday from the Inspiration Café in Paoli. Our theme for the month of July is, “Freedom” and I’ll be speaking about, “Liberty AND Life.” We begin at 10:30 A.M. and can be found by going to our website, www.cslphilly.org and pressing the orange “Watch” button. These Celebrations are archived on the website and can be viewed at another time, as well. Do scroll through and see valuable information and interesting events you may enjoy.

Our “God Squad” is available to work with you on any life challenges you may be facing and can be reached on the Practitioner Page on our website. Whomever you select will be happy to schedule an appointment, either in person or on the phone, to assist you in deepening your connection to Spirit and lifting your consciousness to greater Good.

With great love and respect,

Dr. Maxine

Our spiritual work is best done in serene and faith-filled acceptance, relying on the generosity of Spirit and the dependability of the Law. We are wise to become aware of any areas of doubt or concern that might, otherwise, impede the fulfillment of our hearts’ desires, as we transform them into a positive, creative system of belief. A healthy expectancy opens our hearts and minds to the ease and joy of receiving our Good, and maintaining such a clear and receptive instrument insures the continued flow of blessings in our lives.

Once we have made a conscious, creative decision, we are to sustain trust in the choice we have selected, resting in calm, clear assurance that we chose wisely, are supported by Divine Wisdom, and responded to positively by the Law of Mind. We do not second-guess our decisions but maintain confidence in the spiritual guidance that led us to them. Awaiting the result with cheerful expectancy and growing gratitude is the wisest course of action.

Even if we decide later to choose differently, we can be thankful both for the good we received from the first demonstration and our freedom to set another cause into motion. Our whole lives are about choice, selecting that which is appropriate at the time, then deciding on that which is more in alignment with our needs in the next moment. Each conscious, caring decision we make brings us closer to awakening us to our Authentic Self and opens us to become greater receivers of Life’s Bounty.

Catch us on our livestream this Sunday from the Inspiration Café in Paoli, as we complete June’s theme of, “Selectivity.” Rev. Mike and I will be sharing a “He Said/She Said” talk on, “Trusting the Choice.” We begin at 10:30 A.M. and can be found by going to our website, www.cslphilly.org and pressing the orange “Watch” button. If you are not able to tune in at that time, just follow the same procedure later in the day or week to catch our Celebration. The website also provides rich information on events and activities which may interest you.

Open the Practitioner Page on our website and choose one of our caring and competent GPCSL Practitioners, ready to work with you in any challenging area of your life. They not only lift you in Spiritual Mind Treatment (Affirmative Prayer) but are happy to teach you to use the spiritual tools that allow the essential changes in consciousness that alter the external conditions.

With great love and respect,

Dr. Maxine
