Aug, 2022: August BoT SPOT

Welcome to GPCSL’s August BoT SPOT!

We sure hope you all are enjoying your summer. These dog days of summer are filled with lots of fun activities, so we want to send a special thank you to all our GPCSL members and friends for joining us each Sunday for our Sunday Celebration livestream and various classes. Also, a huge shout out to all of you who have been able to join us for our in-person events!!!

Our picnic last month was well attended, the food was AMAZING, and wasn’t it so nice to share time and space together?

We will continue to livestream each Sunday while also planning at least one in-person event or Sunday Celebration per month. Next up? Glad you asked!

On Saturday, August 20th at 10:30 A.M. we will enjoy a Labyrinth Walk for Peace in Fort Washington, PA. These walks are a new experience to me, but I must say I felt the power and possibility for deep awakening the very first time. So, I encourage you to join us!!! Afterwards, consider joining us in a casual lunch nearby. All are welcome! Click here to register to attend.

Looking a bit forward to September (I know…already???), we will be holding another in-person “Affirmative Prayer in the Open Air” Sunday Celebration on Sunday, September 18 at 10:30 A.M. followed by a social hour with coffee and goodies at the Wilson Farm Park in Chesterbrook, PA.  Click here for details:  In-Person Sunday Celebration at Wilson Farm Park Pavilion, Chesterbrook (cslphilly.org)

Don’t forget to view the Thursday GPCSL informative email each week…it is chockful of details on upcoming classes, Sunday Celebrations, and in-person events!

With love and deep appreciation

This awakening is a process of evolution, a little here and a little there, until the whole eye is opened and we see that life is neither separate from God nor different from God. ~ Ernest Holmes, Science of Mind, p. 487

We travel this path of spiritual evolution at our own rate and in the way that is most suited to us along each step of the journey.  Not only individuals, but the entire human race, moves through various “kingdoms of consciousness” until the Light Truth dawns that we already one with the One.  The highways and byways of our exploration are necessary to this ultimate discovery, and it can be helpful to understand the various stages of growth that take us to this spiritual awareness.

Rather than entering into discouragement or disparagement when we feel ourselves  somehow lagging in our progress, let’s realize each step in our forward movement is necessary and appropriate.   We may honor and appreciate our current place in consciousness, learn and grow through it, and take the next opportunity to move closer to our Divine Reality.

Join us every Sunday morning at 10:30 A.M., and invite your friends to experience our live stream Celebration from the Inspiration Café in Paoli. The theme for the month of August is, “Loving the World to Wholeness,” and this week’s topic will be, “From Four Kingdoms to One.” When you go to our website, www.cslphilly.org click on the orange “Watch Live” button, and you will be taken to our YouTube channel or click here for our Facebook page. Looking through the other pages on this site, you’ll find Events, archived Sunday Celebrations and Love Notes, and many other interesting pages.

Although we are all “practitioners” when we employ the principles of this teaching, we may find ourselves too close to a life challenge to deal with it alone. This is the time to reach out for spiritual support, and our Professional Practitioners are ready and willing to help you move to a deeper understanding and higher consciousness.  You will find  them on the Practitioner Page of our website.

With great love and respect,

Dr. Maxine

The Original Substance takes many forms; multiplicity, or many, within unity, or the One.  ~ Ernest Holmes, Science of Mind, p. 493
How many beautiful flowers grow and flourish in God’s Garden! Each of us came forth from the One Life, infused with the qualities of Spirit, moving along our individual evolutionary paths, and imbued with particular gifts to enjoy and to share with others. This is true of all sentient beings, and it is a wondrous thing to behold our unity while celebrating the rich and varied ways that Life finds ways to express.
No one came into this world without purpose, and it can take some time to become acquainted with the unique and essential ways in which we may add to the beauty of humanity.  As we bring our own Authentic Self to the world and rejoice in the special qualities within others, we discover and cherish our Oneness with Spirit and each other. Let’s look more deeply into our spiritual nature, appreciate and respect everyone’s uniqueness, and simply, “Let God be God in us!”
Every Sunday at 10:30 A.M., we stream our morning Celebration from the Inspiration Café in Paoli. The theme for the month of August is, “Loving the World to Wholeness,” and this week’s topic will be, “Unity in Multiplicity.” Just go to our website, www.cslphilly.org and click on the orange “Watch Live” button, you will be taken to our YouTube channel or click here for our Facebook page. Be sure to take a look at the other pages on this site, including Events, archived Sunday Celebrations, and Love Notes Rev. Mike and I send during the week.
Whenever there is a need for spiritual support, our Professional Practitioners stand by to work with you, using spiritual principles to address human conditions. You may find them listed on the Practitioner Page of our website and reach out to any of them for compassionate assistance.
With great love and respect,
Dr. Maxine

One, in consciousness with the Infinite, constitutes a complete majority. ~Ernest Holmes
We tend to see the world in “two-ness,” focusing too closely on contrasts, differences, and duality, rather than looking beyond to the innate unity of all life. It is only human to notice disparities instead of perceiving commonalities. We have two eyes, trained to observe distinctions; yet, we are wiser to view ourselves and the world from the Eye of the Heart, which beholds only Oneness.
As we open our hearts and minds more widely to the divine activity of forming and insisting upon a new Vision of a World That Works for All, we find that “Love goes before us and makes all the crooked places straight.” Jessica Craven, author of Chop Wood, Carry Water, suggests we choose fortitude over fatalism and hope over the ease of criticism. Rather than slipping into any false belief in “too late” or “impossible,” we must keep the High Watch, listen deeply for the Song of Love, take on the Mantel of Peace, and gladly walk the Path of Wisdom.
Tune into our livestream Celebration from the Inspiration Café at 10:30 A.M. this Sunday, as we begin the new theme for the month of August, “Loving the World to Wholeness.” This week’s topic will be, “We Unify and Not Divide.” As you go to our website, www.cslphilly.org and click on the orange “Watch Live” button, you will be taken to our YouTube channel. You may also find us on CSL Philly Facebook page. There is much to review on the other pages on this site, including Events, archived Sunday Celebrations, and Love Notes Rev. Mike and I send during the week.

If every day things are a little better, a little happier, a little more harmonious, a little more health-giving and joyous; if each day we are expressing more life, we are moving in the right direction. ~ Ernest Holmes, Science of Mind, p. 307

When you and I finally realize Who we are and embrace our spiritual origins, there will be no more “playing small,” making excuses, or feeling insufficient or insignificant. Day by day, moment by moment, we are moving closer to the realization of our Authentic Self, the whole and complete being that we were created to be. Once we get over the false belief that we are separate from God and distanced from our Good, we finally become open to the inflow and outpouring of Divine Life through us, here and now.

The world has need of you, your special talents, and unique contributions, and you are irreplaceable. In discovering and celebrating the Spiritual Magnificence within every sentient being, you finally may begin to delight in the marvelous Self that you are and begin shining your Light a little brighter, no longer “hiding it under a bushel.” Come on out and play, live your best life, and live it out loud!

Join us this Sunday, as we livestream the Inspiration Café at 10:30 A.M., completing our July theme, “Born Free,” and address the important topic: “Living Out Loud.” Simply go to our website, www.cslphilly.org and click on the orange “Watch Live” button. This will take you to our YouTube page or you may find us on our CSL Philly Facebook page. Check out other pages on this site, including Events, archived Sunday Celebrations, and Love Notes Rev. Mike and I send during the week.

Of course, on our Practitioner Page, you will find contact information for our Professional Practitioners. These are people of high consciousness, trained in the art of Spiritual Mind Treatment (Affirmative Prayer) and can help you to move through any human challenges by applying spiritual principles. Choose to work with one of them when you find yourself too close to a challenge in your life.

With great love and respect,
