Then, knowing that The Thing can work for us only through us, let us begin to accept today more good than we experienced yesterday, and to know that we shall reap a harvest of fulfilled desires.  ~ Ernest Holmes, Science of Mind, p. 39

Becoming more and more aware of the One Source from which we have all come, and the spirituality that dwells within us, we continually “court this Presence,” as we learn to direct the Law.  All laws are invisible and await our recognition of them, in order to live in harmony and creativity with life.  Aeronautics had to be deeply understood and intelligently applied before dirigibles and airplanes could be properly designed and sent to the skies. Similarly, the Law of Mind works well for us and by means of us, when we recognize its presence flowing through our consciousness and employ It consciously.

You and I are necessary instruments through which Spirit manifests Life and are wise to learn and cooperate with the laws of nature, as well as the Law of Sowing and Reaping itself. Jesus taught that, “It is done unto you as you believe,” clearly stating that the quality and strength of our belief determines the outcome in our lives.  The Law continues to work, whether true beliefs or erroneous notions are given It.  We have the joyous responsibility of choosing our thoughts carefully and planting only healthy seeds into the fertile Law of Mind.

What a joy it is to live consciously and creatively, knowing that each of us is a beautiful and unique expression of the Living God. The Intelligent operation of the Universe guarantees a fuller expression of Spirit through us, as we maintain our focus on that which is true, beautiful, and life-affirming.  You and I are essential to the continuing evolution of the human race, for we are unified in Spirit and capable of shining up our instruments of Divine Life.

Virtual Sunday Celebrations continue each week at 10:30 A.M., and we love having you with us, either at the time we live stream or later in the day or week. Centers for Spiritual Living theme for 2021 is, “Timeless Wisdom; Evolutionary Vision,” and our theme for the month of January is, “Back to Basics; Forward to Foresight.” Keeping with Science of Mind tradition, we devote the first four Sundays of the year to the basic concepts, found in the introductory chapters in the Science of Mind.  This is a great time of review for long-time students and a lovely opportunity for new folks to learn about our teaching.  This Sunday’s topic is: “A Divinely Designed System,” based on Introductory Chapter II.  As you log on to our website, www.cslphilly.org you’ll be directed to You Tube or Facebook. The Sunday Celebrations and Rev. Mike’s and my daily “Love Notes” may be seen at any time via the Live Stream button.

A timely reminder:  Two wonderful classes begin this week, my five-Tuesday class tonight at 6:30 P.M., “The Art of Abundance: Ten Rules for a Prosperous Life,” based on this powerful and insightful book by Dennis Merritt Jones. You may still register by contacting the GPCSL office, or by contacting me directly, and I’ll send you the Zoom link and e-mail you the materials right away.  It is necessary to have the book and is a love offering class. The second offering is a ten-week, CSL accredited class taught by Rev. Mike on Saturday afternoons, New Foundations.  Again, get in touch with the office or contact him directly.  We are starting our year with conscious, intelligent determination to continue growing and expanding.

You may access our dedicated Practitioners or Practitioner Interns on our website, as they stand ready to provide spiritual support for any issues with which you are faced.  We are here for each other and not intended to walk this journey alone.

With great love and respect,

These lessons are dedicated to that truth which frees man from himself and sets him on the pathway of a new experience, which enables him to see through the mist to the Eternal and Changeless Reality.  Ernest Holmes, Science of Mind Introduction

For centuries, philosophers and theologians have sought to know the foundation of Life, the “ground of being,” or the basic stuff of the universe.  In the early part of the 20th century, Dr. Holmes referred to, “The Thing Itself” as the underlying Reality of Life, the Eternal Presence of God Itself.  Counter to much of the traditional belief at the time, he espoused a living philosophy that brought the Divine down from the sky into the very hearts and minds of men and women. This revolutionary thinking caught on with many forward thinkers and found its way even into some mainstream religion.  Ernest Holmes was not attempting to begin a new religion, but to share universal truths with anyone open to changing their thinking and improving their lives.

To this day, the conscious, creative philosophy of Religions Science, the teachings of Science of Mind, continue to open minds, heal hearts, and provide a pathway for a more workable world for all.  It is our privilege and pleasure to review the basic ideas of this beautiful teaching and to “Awaken Humanity to Its Spiritual Magnificence.”  As we bless and leave behind a most challenging year, we may use 2020 “hindsight” to acknowledge lessons learned and gifts given and received. Now, we “see through the mist” to dynamic, new possibilities that begin with the lifting and expansion of each consciousness.

Centers for Spiritual Living Spiritual Leader, Rev. Dr. Edward Viljoen, recently posted a beautiful affirmation:  “Steeped in the wisdom of the ages, I humbly resolve to evolve!” I love this and invite us all to use it, as we release 2020 and enter fully into the infinite possibilities of 2021.

Join us each week, and invite your friends, for our virtual Sunday Celebrations at 10:30 A.M.  Centers for Spiritual Living theme for 2021 is, “Timeless Wisdom; Evolutionary Vision,” and our theme for the month of January is, Back to Basics; Forward to Foresight.” Keeping with Science of Mind tradition, we devote the first four Sundays of the year to the basic concepts, found in the four introductory chapters in the Science of Mind.  This is a great time of review for long-time students and a lovely opportunity for new folks to learn about our teaching.  This Sunday’s topic is: “What is This Thing Called God?”  As you log on to our website, www.cslphilly.org you’ll be directed to You Tube or Facebook. Born into time and experience, unnoticed, unseen, yet alive and aware, the Christ Child incarnated in human form, taking the likeness of men and women . . . ~ Ernest Holmes, Science of Mind, P. 360

Last night’s Virtual Winter Solstice Celebration 2020 was such a beautiful testament to the expression of the Universal Light within all people, as we were blessed to hear from many faith traditions and to be uplifted by wonderful music! If you did not tune in then, you may still find it archived on our website, and I invite you to view it again and again. We are deeply grateful to all our enlightened presenters and to Jeff Masino for producing the final, magnificent product!

There is so much for which we are thankful, as we move toward Christmas this week and the conclusion of the year next week.  In the midst of a great deal of darkness, we continued to bring the Light and to share it with others.  This, of course, is an ongoing process, and one in which we are privileged to participate. The great gift of the illuminated Christ Consciousness, called by many names, yet fully present within each person, continually shines Its warmth and love. Let this be our focus, as we prepare to release the past with gratitude and embrace the New Possibility before us. Yes, Peace on Earth is still a personal and universal achievable opportunity, and our commitment is strong. Keep shining that Divine Light!

Our virtual Sunday Celebrations continue each week at 10:30 A.M., and we invite you to join us for this live stream gathering.  Our theme for the month has been, “Celebrate Everything,” and we conclude the month, and the year, with “Endings and Beginnings.”  Logging on to our website, www.cslphilly.org you’ll be directed to You Tube or Facebook. Archived Sunday Celebrations and Rev. Mike’s and my daily “Love Notes” may be seen at any time via the Live Stream button.

If you desire spiritual support, simply reach out to one of our Practitioners or Practitioner Interns on the website. You will find that any of them will be glad to work with you.

The Love of the All Good is within me and through me. That Love goes out to meet all who come into my atmosphere.  It radiates to all and is flowing through all.  My Love within me is perfect.  Thy Love within me is perfect.  Ernest Holmes, Science of Mind, p. 522

Now that we are happily in the midst of the holidays (and I trust it is “happily” and not “haphazardly”) we do well to remember that these truly are Holy Days.  They are made Holy by our clear intention to bring more authentic love into our lives and into the world. As His Holiness, the Dalai Lama proclaims, “Be kind whenever possible, and it is always possible.” Whether standing in line at the Post Office, picking up last minute gifts, interacting with a clerk, or passing by a neighbor’s house, we are always able to smile, share a kind word, ask a compassionate question, or offer support.

When Love becomes our main objective, It guides us in every wholesome direction, teaching us how to lift hearts and heal minds.  It is not a commodity to be attained but a way of life to be lived, expanding our own awareness of the Beloved which indwells us and every sentient being, and inviting Its increase and healthy flow.  This is often called, “The Season of Love,” as it is the time of year we love giving gifts, and the greatest of these gifts, most certainly, is Love.

Be with us for our virtual Sunday Celebrations, beginning at 10:30 A.M., as we live stream our weekly gathering.  Our theme for the month is, “Celebrate Everything,” and this week’s talk is, “The Season of Love.”  Simply log on to our website, www.cslphilly.org and you’ll be directed to You Tube or Facebook. Archived Sunday Celebrations and Rev. Mike’s and my daily “Love Notes” may be seen at any time via the Live Stream button.

Each year, our Winter Solstice Celebration has been one of our most cherished events, and, this year, we are going virtual!  Join us on the actual date, Monday, December 21st at 7:00 P.M. for “Virtual Winter Solstice Celebration 2020: Bless the Darkness; Invite the Light.” Presenters from major faith traditions join with people from our Beloved Community, along with musicians, such as Daniel Nahmod, to bring to you one of the most outstanding celebrations we have yet experienced.  By Saturday, the direct link will be available on our website; in the meantime, check out the flyer on our Calendar of Events for more information.

Consider reaching out to our Practitioners and Practitioner Interns for spiritual support, whatever your need may be. Their information is also on the website. They will provide spiritual mind treatment, and work with you in confidence and professionalism.

I am happy and complete, today and forever.  Within me is that which is Perfect and Complete.  It is The Spirit of all Life, Truth, and Action.  I am happy in the certain knowledge of this Inner Light. I cannot be sad nor sorry, but must radiate Joy and Life, for Life is within me now.   ~ Ernest Holmes, Science of Mind, P. 511

As much enjoyment as we can receive from external décor, seasonal music, and twinkling lights, it cannot compare to the true delight we are able to feel when connecting closely with that inner Light of Joy that lives within us all.  With such focus on the Interior Life, we may appreciate the peripheral activities, while expressing deep gratitude for the Infinite Joy of Life Itself.  Everything we perceive outside is typically a reflection of what is within us, so we can feel thankful when external beauty reminds us of the Internal Reality.

Even in difficult situations, it is possible to feel joy, because Joy is an essential attribute of God, and you and I are individualizations of that Divine Presence.  We can actually be “carriers,” creating a “contagion of cheerfulness,” simply by revealing our inherent divine nature.  Let’s let ourselves be lifted in those wonderful feelings wonder, as we become radiant instruments of Divine Joy, for ourselves and others.

Join us for our virtual Sunday Celebrations, beginning at 10:30 A.M., as we live stream our weekly gathering.  Our new theme for the month is, “Celebrate Everything,” and this week’s talk is, “The Source of Joy.”  When you log on to our website, www.cslphilly.org you’ll be directed to You Tube or Facebook.
