In Genesis, the first book in the Old Testament, (or Hebrew Bible) we read,”. . . and a great sleep fell upon Adam . . .” The name, Adam, we perceive as “generic man,” or humanity’s early consciousness before becoming aware of its divinity. In Romans, much further into the New Testament, we finally read, “Awaken, thou that sleepest,” indicating the higher consciousness that develops through our spiritual evolutionary process. This is a step-by-step process for the individual, as well as for our entire human race.
The more conscious we become as individuals, inviting the Light of God to shine through our thoughts and feelings, the more awake to its Divinity humanity comes. We cannot expect the human race to evolve without each individual shining the Light to all the world. Our current global events can and must respond to a growing awareness of Unity beyond separateness, Compassion instead of aggression, and Peace, rather than conflict of any kind. Each of us has an important part to play, as we awaken to the Infinite Possibilities that exist for each of and all of us and bring a consciousness of Light and Peace into the world. Our message of Spiritual Truth is essential to all.
