Oct. 27, 2026: From the Pen of Dr. Maxine

Dear Ones,

As we enter the festive month of November, it is only natural to begin to experience thoughts of Thanksgiving, both the holiday itself and the sacred activity of deepening our gratitude.  One involves gathering with family, planning and sharing food, while the other is a sacred, spiritual practice that does not wait for any particular time of year. As we begin planning for this holiday, there is every reason to bring the two together, setting intentions to feel true thanksgiving for our family and friends, for the bounty we are fortunate to have and to share, and for the Divine Presence which makes it all possible.

Imagine experiencing this sacred awareness every day, whether a holiday or simply a “holy day,” as each one truly is when we keep our perspective elevated. As we shared in last Sunday’s wonderfully inspiring Annual Community Meeting, our Vision is about flourishing, individually and as a Beloved Community. The most effective way to evolve into this Vision is to deepen and extend our gratitude every day and to become more open and receptive to the Generous Giver of Life and All Good.

The theme for November is, “The Growing Grace of Gratitude,” and our  1:00 P.M. Celebration brings us to the first day of the return to Standard Time, so be sure to set your clocks back one hour on Saturday night. This Sunday’s Celebration will focus on, “Gratitude is Causative.”  We meet at UCCVF, 45 Walker Road, Wayne, Pennsylvania, or you may join online by going to our website: www.cslphilly.org  Our spiritual community goes far beyond this lovely sanctuary, and there is neither separation nor distance in our extended family. Everyone belongs, whether physically near or far.

Click here to register for the two-Sunday Zoom “Discovery Classes” and join the enthusiastic folks ready to learn more about Centers for Spiritual Living, the history of Science of Mind, its principles and practices, and especially the work of the Greater Philadelphia Center for Spiritual Living. We’ll gather on two Sunday afternoons, November 8th and 15th from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M. ET. All registrants will receive an inspiring and informative booklet, and there is no charge for it or the class, although love offerings are always graciously accepted.

 With great love and respect,

Dr. Maxine
