Creativity is intelligence having funAlbert Einstein

As our spiritual community comes together to find and implement innovative and inspired ideas to co-create a new environment of “Living, Loving, and Learning,” we do well to enter into these divine activities with joy, as well as with clear intention.  Ernest Holmes suggested that we “take what we are doing seriously,” while not “taking ourselves too seriously” while we are doing it!

We rely on Principle for all creative activity, as we join together in One Mind and One Heart to bring about an inspired future for the Greater Philadelphia Center for Spiritual Living, enhanced Peace and Prosperity for ourselves and our loved ones, and True Harmony and Wholeness for the world.  The Infinite Intelligence of this Universe is available at all times and in all places and is actually flowing through each one of us now. As we welcome this Divine Activity with love and delight, opening our hearts to one another, we begin amazing ourselves with what truly is possible.

It requires moving beyond any former subjective patterns of lack or limitation, as we expand into greater freedom and joyous living. Neither global catastrophes nor personal challenges have any power of themselves, as conditions change as quickly as a new consciousness prevails.  As we establish beautiful, new spiritual prototypes in our individual and collective consciousness, the Creative Infinite Intelligence reveals them with great success.

Even while we connect with one another virtually at this time, we are using a Power for Good that is greater than we are, yet right within and all around us. We are privileged to use it for good and honored to allow IT to use us for even greater Good. Let’s let this Intelligence show us the resources at hand, as we move creatively and joyfully into a new realm of divine activity.

I am thrilled with the Almighty force of the Universe as it courses through every part of me.  It quickens every part of me into a newness of life and action.  ~ Ernest Holmes, Science of Mind, p. 242

Feeling the newness in the air, as we approach the fall season, we naturally gravitate toward the release of the “what-has-been” and the embrace of fresh ideas of “what-now-is-possible.”  Connecting deeply with the Living Force of the Divine within and all around us, we find the letting go of past negatives almost effortless, as we replace each such thought with a greater truth.

There is no place in the Mind of God for anything less than Perfect Life, and that Life loves flowing through each of us with grace and ease, as we eliminate any false belief or mental obstruction to its beautiful and powerful movement.  Constriction is replaced with Freedom, pain with Peace, confusion with Harmony, and resentment with Love. As our focus of attention rises from the relative to the Absolute, instantaneous changes in consciousness produce life-altering conditions: mentally, emotionally, and physically.

Let’s make clear, conscious choices about our personal lives and the world itself, bringing a radiant, new expression of Divine Life in a consciousness of Infinite Possibility. Everything new, everything beautiful, everything Divine!

Tonight, at 6:30 P.M., we begin a wonderful, eight-week course, based on the book “Treat Yourself to Life,” by Raymond Charles Barker.  This is an accredited class with Centers for Spiritual Living and a great opportunity to bring more love, prosperity, health, and creativity into your life. It is not too late to register, if you contact Linda O’Neill right away at admin@cslphilly.com.  She will e-mail you the class materials, as well as the Zoom link.  You will need the book, as the reading begins after the first class.

Work is love made visible. And if you can’t work with love, but only with distaste, it is better that you should leave your work and sit at the gate of the temple and take alms of the people who work with joy. ~ Khalil Gibran, on “Work,” from The Prophet

As Labor Day approaches, we may still ponder its meaning for us, even though this year’s weekend will be quite different from those of the past.  In fact, as we honor workers everywhere who have made substantial contributions to the strength, prosperity, and wellbeing of  our country, we realize what deep gratitude we owe to the “front-line workers” during this time of Covid-19.  They continue their tireless endeavors to save lives, support healing, and comfort those who would, otherwise, have died alone.

Many of us have done what we could to maintain our day-to-day activities from home, learning the joys of Zoom and other means of virtual connection.  Meetings, classes, and essential activities on line have become the “new normal,” and we have increased our knowledge and flexibility in the process.  Despite missing our colleagues and in-person meetings, we have been able to continue business-not-as-usual and have reason to feel both pride and gratitude for our ability and willingness to learn and grow.

We have also discovered how meaningful it can be to enter more often into stillness, in order to do our “inner work,” reviewing limiting thoughts and subjective patterns that may need to be expanded or transformed, and renewing our commitment to our core beliefs.  This Work deserves a capital “W,” as well, for it is as we enter willingly into doing what is ours to do internally, we are guided and motivated to take this same attitude into our daily activities.

Let’s choose to enter in with joy and gratitude to the even the simplest task and certainly into the grand activities that are ours to do, realizing that no one can perform your responsibilities nearly as well as you.  This is sacred work, and I join you in moving through each day in a consciousness of delight in all that we choose to accomplish.

One week from tonight, from 6:30 – 9:00 P.M., we begin our dynamic, eight-week course, “Treat Yourself to Life,” based on Raymond Charles Barker’s book by the same name.  This is an accredited class with Centers for Spiritual Living and a sweet opportunity to bring more love, prosperity, health, and creativity into your life. Simply register with Linda O’Neill at admin@cslphilly.com and she will e-mail you the class materials, as well as the Zoom link.  Let her know if you have or need the book itself.

Thank you for continuing to join our live-streamed Sunday Celebrations each week on You Tube and Facebook.  You may access either through our website, www.cslphilly.org. Our fresh theme for September will be “Everything New,” and this Sunday’s topic is, “Rethinking Work.” Our Zoom Socials* will now be held the first Sunday of each month, directly after our Celebration, and this is the number to use if you wish to join us for a short time of conversation.  *(Go to zoom.us and enter this Meeting I.D. number: 839 5103 2452)

When we constructively praise and creatively bless, life abounds with love, peace, and joy.   ~ Ernest Holmes, Science of Mind, p. 434

We have been reviewing the five basic steps of spiritual mind treatment and relating them to how we may connect more deeply and authentically with others in our world. This final Sunday in August focuses on freely turning over our newly-created mental equivalent, or spiritual prototype, to the perfectly wonderful and reliable Law of Mind.  As we bless this precious seed thought to its highest expression and release it with confidence to the responsive, creative activity of this Law, we may rest in the sweet awareness that we have done our part and leave the rest to Creative Intelligence.

As we also bless the work we are doing to connect meaningfully with others, we can trust the Universe to continue deepening and expanding our appreciation, compassion, and respect for one another.  Bless and praise every person who has ever entered your life, as well as those who have left, express gratitude for each one in your world right now, and celebrate those on their way to you.  As we release all previous-held, unconscious attitudes and beliefs and opinions of “the other,” we become free to engage in truly authentic communion with people both like us and unlike us, without having to “unlike” anybody!

Let’s wrap up these five weeks of loving exploration of true Community with the clear understanding that we not only have our important part to do, but that we are willingly joining with other beloveds to create that “World That Works for All.”

How I would love to have you participate with me in the eight-week course, “Treat Yourself to Life” on Tuesday nights, beginning one week from tonight, for a life-changing class on Raymond Charles Barker’s book by the same name.  This is an accredited class with Centers for Spiritual Living and a sweet opportunity to bring more love, prosperity, health, and creativity into your life. Simply register with Linda O’Neill at admin@cslphilly.com and she will e-mail you the class materials, as well as the Zoom link.  Let her know if you have or need the book.

Gratitude is one of the chief graces of human existence and is crowned heaven with a consciousness of unity. ~Ernest Holmes, Science of Mind, p. 497

As we review the fourth step of spiritual mind treatment (or, “affirmative prayer,”) we remember the power of a thankful heart to aid in the acceptance of our clear, conscious intentions, through deep embodiment of the wise words we have spoken.  The same is true of the social action we are taking to create a more just and harmonious world.  We must go far beyond “talking the talk” and truly begin “walking the walk,” and this occurs when we bring deep love and real appreciation to the Work at hand.

In our endeavors to bridge any gaps we are experiencing between ourselves and another, we can move more easily from mistrust to understanding when we seek what we have in common, then listen with our hearts to begin to appreciate our differences.  In conscious, constructive conversation, we discover new ways of thinking and being and can begin delighting in each other’s experiences.  Instead of any inner criticism of a person’s views that are unlike our own, it is possible to begin feeling gratitude for the various ways that Spirit shows up in humanity.

Before we venture into the world to make a difference, we would do well to begin at home, finding common ground with our loved ones and becoming truly interested in learning about customs, attitudes, ways of thinking, and discovering and celebrating other differences between us. Let’s listen more genuinely, share more authentically, and feel thankful to embody a greater idea about ourselves and others.

Please join our Community with two others tomorrow night at 6:30 P.M. on Zoom to share our third experience of coming together to deepen understanding and strengthen relationships between people of different races.  It has been mind-and-heart-opening, and this will be the final evening of this particular program. Contact Linda O’Neill to receive the Zoom link.
